more ranting.

The porblem is that I 've been staying home a lot during the week lately with lots of free time to think. Thinking is bad. Then I realized there is some other shit that I might possibly be interested in doing with my life besides what I'm doing. The extra free time gives me plenty of time to read, listen, and watch the news. It has been very bad for my morale.

Since all of the initial reasons for the war in Iraq have turned out to be bogus, I was having hopes that at least the new government and constitution would lead to a better life in Iraq...you know freedom, democracy and all that. Maybe that freedom and democracy will spread to other Middle Eastern states, who knows. So the new Iraqi constitution has seriously restricted womens rights! Furthermore, the differences between the Shiites and Sunnis are causing serious problems. Our occupation of Iraq has provided the perfect propoganda for terrorist orgazinations around the world (ask the Brits). The whole thing is a giant mess. Our President didn't listen to his intelligence agencies or State Department officials (including the Secretary of State) when he invaded. I can't think of anything shittier to bring a country into war when there was so much doubt about the war in the first place from the resources that were available. Even our closest allies didn't support it, but what did we do? We changed French Fries to Freedom Fries. What were most people doing during all this? Talking about Ryan Seacrest and Survivor. America is ridiculous these days. Somebody tell me something positive, please.

But, today was better than yesterday. I staid busy, and contented myself by looking forward to my pay raise and new job. This was the first chance all day I've had to get on my soap box, and it feels good.
